Chris Paul is a prodigy, the best point-guard in the NBA. He is a leader, on and off the court, and should be an all-star for years to come. The question is, is Paul ready to be the NBA MVP? Kobe Bryant thinks it is his time, and maybe he is correct. The NBA MVP is not a lifetime achievement award, however, and from that standpoint, Chris Paul has as a good a chance as anyone to win it.
The only others with any hope of the MVP award would be Kevin Garnett of the Boston Celtics, and LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Garnett has had a monster season, leading the Celtics with the best record in the NBA.
Kobe Bryant will have the luxury of being at home, but the Hornets have been hot, staving off all NBA West comers, still atop the NBA West, in what has been the most competitive NBA Conference in NBA History.
